Another day under the Kenyan sun! A trip to Kenya in December may interupt the holidays at home, but the warmth of the sun and the brisk winds have no desire to bring snowflakes or snowstorms upon the people of this land.
We’ve had another good day. Phyllis taught some more crocheting and weaving to the kids. Kathy and Micki interviewed a bunch of the kids this afternoon, and Anna, Jaden, and I taught a few of the kids some new games - Old Mail, Blockus, Dominoes, and Tic-Tac-Toe. We still have Skip-Bo, Rummikub, and Banana-grams to teach. We’ll see how far we get.
Anna, Jaden, and I concluded the day with an hour of pretty intense futball including a few of the bigger guys from the neighborhood. At fourty something, I’m still pretty quick, but my feet go nowhere when it comes to playing the ball. Sigh - oh well. At least, I’m still giving it a go.
It’s 7:45 p.m., and we’re in Elijah’s home hanging out in the living room. The aromas from the kitchen are making me believe that I am hungry even though it may not be the case. And even the hard mattress seems to be calling my name. We’re tired after another day under the Kenyan sun.
