How I envision the kingdom of God

There is much debate about immigration reform these days here in the States.  I also know how the kingdom of God looks according to a healthy reading of the biblical text.

Here it is as imagined and experienced by our family among our friends in Karai, Kenya.

that is a wonderful way to look at what Heaven will be...Revelation 7:9 After these things I looked, and behold, a great multitude which no one could count, from every nation and all tribes and peoples and tongues, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed in white robes, and palm branches were in their hands;

Does a "healthy reading of the biblical text" include immigrants obeying the law?

"A healthy reading of the biblical text" means that we take the commands to love our neighbor seriously regardless of how they became our neighbors.

We can argue how our immigrant neighbors arrived here, but we also break the law every time we drive over the speed limit, fail to come to a complete stop at a stop sign or fail to be completely honest on every penny of our taxes.

Somehow we so often find it easier to point toward others for their misgivings and fail to see our own selfishness.
