Ibrahim Parlack... but who cares.

Tonight I watched Nightline. It was about this guy from Michigan who, after living in America since 1991, is likely to be deported for being a terrorist. Odd thing. He was allowed to stay in America on grounds of political assylum in 1991. Now he may be deported because of the acts that he committed prior to arriving in America. In addition, our government was aware of those actions, but it wasn't phased at that time. Now, with the Homeland Security thing we have a president and staff intent on ridding all Japanese ... oops... wrong war. I mean that our govt. now has a new set of rules for who is allowed to breate our air. In fact, the guy hasn't done anything wrong since arriving here in America. He married, has a daughter, a profitable business, and he's been in jail since July 29. Yep. July 29. If we really believe something hasn't gone awry as a result of 9-11, we're seriously misguided. Here's the website for Ibrahim Parlack. www.cafegulistan.com

Randy - I came across your post after Googling Ibrahim Parlack. Thanks for sharing your compassionate thoughts. I know Ibrahim and he is a good man who does not deserve the treatment he has gotten from our government. He was on Nightline again last night because he was freed last week. He's still on trial for deportation, but at least he is out of jail and able to be with his daughter Livia now. Thought you might like to know.

thanks anonymous for the update. I did see nightline, and I've tried to do a bit including a few congressional letters... and some other small things. It's not about what I've done or haven't done thought... I'm glad to know that at least Ibrahim is out of jail...
